8 March: a symbolic date. International Women's Day is celebrated all over the world. Many meanings are associated with this day: an ideal moment for women in every corner of the planet to reaffirm their identity and social achievements. Aware that the journey is far from over. In short: a day that is certainly not trivial on the calendar, to which we at Carpineto also want to dedicate what we have most precious: the wine from our cellars.

And to celebrate International Women's Day, we have chosen a wine of equal strength, elegance and personality. A bottle that best expresses the identity of Tuscan viticulture in the world, naturally predisposed to a longevity that makes its scents and flavours evolve, year after year. We are talking about Carpineto Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2015. One of the qualitative peaks of our work in the vineyard and in the cellar, to be imprinted in the heart and memory. Just like a Day as important as the one we are celebrating.

Brunello Riserva: from Paradiso to your glass

The Carpineto Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2015 comes from our Paradiso vineyard, at an altitude of over 500 metres above sea level. The vines face slightly north, with the dense surrounding woods protecting the grapes from the westerly winds - hot and humid - coming from the Maremma. Proof that a great wine always comes from attention to detail, right down to the single inch of land where one chooses to plant the vines. A well-ventilated hillside oasis that favours the achievement of perfect phenolic maturity of the Sangiovese Grosso from which our Brunello Riserva 2015 is born. A vineyard marked by a carpet of moss between the rows, as occurs only in mountain viticulture.

Vinification takes place using indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The wine then matures for at least 42 months in oak barrels of different capacities, followed by bottling without any filtration process. The result in the glass? A wine of distinct elegance already at first glance: intense ruby red, which takes on slight garnet reflections with time.

When swirled in the glass, our Brunello Riserva 2015 presents itself in all its consistency, followed by the intensity and persistence of its aromas. It is on the nose, in fact, that this great wine expresses itself in all its evolutionary power. The clear scents of berries are followed by spicy notes, vanilla, nuances of
cocoa, liquorice, small notes of coffee corroborated by the freshness of the red fruit jam notes. An incredible balance between acidity and sapidity characterises our Brunello Riserva already in its
early years, destined to evolve in all its caressing elegance.

The sip fully confirms the finesse of taste and smell. Soft and velvety on the palate, our 2015 Brunello Riserva best expresses the varietal aromas of Sangiovese Grosso, the ageing in wood, the stabilisation in the bottle. A complex and very fine sip, a synthesis of the Tuscan terroir within the glass, with a marked identity. Evolutionary profiles that ensure that Brunello Riserva is a bottle destined for a long life, which you will be able to taste with supreme satisfaction even after more than ten years. The highest expression that the Montalcino territory, kissed by Nature, can offer our senses.
