Carpineto Is Admitted to the Essential Guide to Italian Wine 2020
Carpineto has once again been included in the Essential Guide to Italian Wine 2020, by Daniele Cernilli of Doctor Wine. This is a guide which invites the reader to get to know regional wineries and some of the best wines of prestigious companies throughout Italy. This edition is available in Italian, English and German and its sixth edition includes over 20,000 carefully selected wines and 1184 wineries. The award of “Faccino” has been assigned to products which scored higher than 95/100.
Among the many products of the Essential Guide to Wines of Italy 2020, our Chianti Classico D.O.C.G. 2017, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva D.O.C.G. 2015 and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Vigneto Poggio Sant’Enrico D.O.C.G. 2012 respectively with 90, 93 and 95 points.
The Essential Guide to Italian Wine 2020 has described our Chianti Classico D.O.C.G. 2017 as an “an enveloping and clear wine, fragrant, simple and immediate, ethereal, with evident notes of kirsch and black cherry” and our Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva D.O.C.G. 2015 as “a bright ruby-garnet wine, with very typical, evident notes of black cherry, violet, slight spicy and blond tobacco hints. Tense and elegant taste, saline, with young but promising tannins”.
The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Vigneto Poggio Sant’Enrico D.O.C.G. 2012 earned the “Faccino”, a prestigious Doctor Wine award assigned in the Essential Guide to Wines of Italy 2020. This product can be described as “complex and enveloping, fruity and spicy, ethereal, with hints of black cherry, vanilla, strawberry jam, tobacco and plum. It has a warm, rich and intense flavor, with velvety tannins, excellent body, powerful and salty, with excellent final persistence“.
