Carpineto Is in OperaWine’s TOP 100 This 2020
It’s happened yet again. And yet again we are filled with pride. Carpineto has been invited to OperaWine which further confirms our international prestige, well earned through hard work and passion since 1967 when the dream of Giovanni Carlo Sacchet and Antonio Mario Zaccheo was born.
This marks Carpineto’s place among the hundred best Italian producers who have been able to create a high-quality wine through technique, skill and taste.
For those of you who are not in the wine sector, OperaWine is the exclusive premiere of VinItaly, where every year “100 Great Italian Producers” are chosen by Wine Spectator and presented as industry leaders.
Carpineto will be represented by its Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva 2010 DOCG on April 18th in the 2020 edition of OperaWine at the Palazzo della Gran Guardia in Verona. This wine was in Wine Spectator’s TOP 100 of 2015, describing it as:
“A fine, elegant and harmonious wine with seductive aromas of black cherry, black currant, leather, spices and undergrowth, with a hint of oak on the finish that suggests it still has time to evolve”.
After 5 years, we will be able to appreciate the evolution of this wine and its maximum expression of autochthonous grapes which immediately prove themselves to be ready and expressive. This wine is distinguished by elegance and freshness but also capable of great longevity, capable of reaching its maximum level of quality in years of aging.
Our Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, which we produce exclusively in Riserva version since 1984 is one of our leading wines which makes it no coincidence that it has been chosen for Wine Spectator’s TOP 100 for several years now – as mentioned in 2015, in 2016 with our 2011 vintage, and in 2018 with our Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Carpineto 2013 wine which was given 95 points and eleventh position in this coveted wine ranking.
