So without further delay, get your backpack and suitcases ready, and let’s go!

From Montepulciano…

How could we not start with the most suitable road to wine? Two cities – one Renaissance, the other Medieval (soon to be revealed) – home to some of the most appreciated Tuscan wine in the world. Let’s start from Montepulciano, from the large square that opens up at the highest point of the town. It’s surrounded by the Cathedral dedicated to the Assumption and some sixteenth-century buildings that belonged to the aristocratic Polizian families. The route winds along the steep streets and harmonious views of the Val di Chiana, down to the majestic church of San Biagio, designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Elder. The town is a maze of wonders that lead to one of the most appreciated wines, where our Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is born.

This is a wine of great depth and bold structure, elegant as only the wonders of Montepulciano can be. It is a wine of beautiful acidity, perfect balance, fruity aromas of jam, spices and toast. This is a wine that we at Carpineto are particularly proud of. And what makes it even more special is that we are the only company in the area to produce it in Riserva or cru. A sip alone will give you Tuscany in a glass, and help you fall in love on this special day for lovers.

…to Montalcino: the perfect wine route

And here we are at the second point of our journey, venturing out to the medieval city of Montalcino. Located more than 500 meters above sea level, its very prominent castle in sight welcomes the traveler through the gates of the ancient town, highlighted against the intense colors of the Val d’Orcia. Our vineyards, in the Forteto del Drago area are among the highest in the appellation are located at over 500 meters high. A real mountain oasis, well ventilated and at high altitude, which allows the grapes to reach a perfect phenolic maturity.

The result of these vineyards is our Brunello di Montalcino: a wine of undisputed elegance, very balanced from its youngest vintages. It is refined both on the nose and on the palate, acquiring more and more depth over time due to its marked longevity. Starting from our 2015 vintage, we also wanted to offer you the Carpineto Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, the result of a 5-star vintage and a maturation of at least 42 months in oak barrels. This is the perfect way to enjoy the beauties of this timeless city, above all on Valentine’s Day,
