Valcolomba winery is located in the Monteregio area of Maremma, and boasts over 165 hectares of land.
The Tuscan Mediterranean climate offers an ideal environment for growing grape vines, with an optimal amount of limited, summer rainfall. The climate lays the perfect foundation for the winery’s 10 hectares of vineyards that grow Vermentino, Sangiovese, Teroldego and Merlot, as well as olive varieties such as Frantoio, Moraiolo, Leccino and Pendolino, which span over 5 hectares of land. Carpineto produces one of the area’s most delicious extra virgin olive oils.
A third of the property is Mediterranean macchia or evergreen shrubland, and is home to the Carpineto cinta senese, a prized breed of pig.
The rest of Valcolomba consists of red rolling hills, lined with oak treed and olive trees making for a perfect backdrop.
